The Dunaújváros Mixed Choir was founded in 1952. It is an amateur artistic group of 75 members. In the past 45 years the choir has constantly been participating in the Dunaújváros cultural and musical life. As a result of a continuous and systematical work it has given numerous high level concerts, sung a capella or accompanied by orchestras. It's repertoire is wide-ranging, spreading from the early renaissance and baroque pieces to the contemporary Hungarian and foreign compositions, and this fact itself qualifies the choir's artistic work.

It has performed oratorios accompained by the Dunaújváros Orchestra or by other towns' orchestras as follows: Mozart: Requiem and Haydn: Mass of Nelson in the Esztergom Basilica. Orff: Carmina Burana in 1987 in Budapest Congress Center and in Székesfehérvár Vörösmarty Theatre then in Dunaújváros in the Dunaferr Sport Hall. With other choirs in Székesfehérvár performed Zoltán Kodály: Székelyfonó. During the years audience of Dunaújváros may have heard several oratorios in the town performed by the choir such as: Cherubini: C minor Requiem; Zoltán Kodály: Psalmus Hungaricus, Te Deum; Händel: Sámson, Sándor Ünnep; Rossini: Stabat Mater Recently the choir has put on some works as Schubert: Mass in B major and Vivaldi: Gloria both accompanied by the orchestra of Székesfehérvár.

The choir has worked with several solist, namely: Ákos Ambrus, Tamás Bátor, Zsolt Derecskei, József Gregor, Pál Kovács, Éva Lukács, Róbert Magyar, Zsuzsa Misura, Júlia Pászthy, István Rozsos, Tamara Takács.

The choir has had concert tours several times abroad. In the past ten years it has been invited to Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy representing not only the town's music life but the Hungarian Culture as well.

As one of the oldest artistic groups of the town always takes care of widening of it's repertoire and the professional and artistic level of it's rehearsals. The choir is working in the Music Hall of Sándor Frigyes Music School. The effectiveness of the rehearsals beyound the audience's appreciation has been qualified by jury.

The latest qualification of the choir is Concert Choir achieved in 9th of December in 1995. In 1996 the choir was given the 'Artistical Prize' of the Trade Union for artistical and cultural activities.

In the 1995/96 season the choir has had 20 performances in different places such as: Esztergom Basilica, Budapest Music Academy, National Gallery.

Among concerts in Dunaújváros the qualifying concert in December and the final concert of the season were remarkable, when a high level a capella block and Vivaldi: Gloria were performed.

Since 1992 the choir has been conducted by Péter Horváth, who has studied at ELTE (Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest) on faculty of music and got his degree as student of Zsuzsanna Mindszenty. He has founded and conducted the Boys' Choir in Móricz Zsigmond Elementary School.
